UTRECHT — September 30, 2026 — Global esports organization Team Liquid has announced today that Team Gullit, the championship-winning EA FC team that the organization acquired in May 2025, will be fully rebranded into “Liquid FC”. The change brings the team's public name in line with the identity it already carries in-game and at competitive events.
The team was acquired by Team Liquid in May 2025, but has operated under two names ever since. Its social channels and website still carried the Team Gullit name, while its players wore the Team Liquid crest and kit in-game and at events like the Esports World Cup. Liquid FC ends that split, giving fans one team and one name to follow.
Under the Team Gullit name, the team won two World Championships and two eChampions League titles, among more than 18 international trophies, while building a following of over 1.6 million across its platforms and generating hundreds of millions of views each year. That success now makes Liquid FC the organization's flagship in EA FC, standing alongside Team Liquid's championship-winning rosters in titles including League of Legends, Counter-Strike 2 and Dota 2.
"Team Gullit has been the best in the world at what they do for years, and ever since joining our organization, they've been doing it wearing our colors. None of that would exist without Ruud Gullit, who put his name behind these players, and Hypersolid, who believed in them from day one," said Victor Goossens, founder and Co-CEO of Team Liquid. "This rebranding formally unites the team under one banner, so that wherever our fans are, they'll now find one name and one crest to rally behind."
Team Gullit was born from the name and legacy of Ruud Gullit, one of football's most iconic figures, and that history remains part of its identity as it steps forward as Liquid FC. Fans can expect the same competitive edge and the same tutorials, guides and content they already follow, now delivered under the Liquid FC name and a refreshed look across all channels. The roster of Manuel Bachoore, Emre Yilmaz and Paulo Neto makes its Liquid FC debut when the new EA FC season goes live on September 18.
